On 23rd September 2011, 52 of our students travelled to Los Angeles for a whirlwind 8 night tour. The dancers were fortunate enough to perform their half hour show at prestigious venues including Disneyland, Disney’s California Adventure Park, Universal Studios, and on Hollywood Boulevard outside the Kodak Theatre complex. The very first performance was the Disneyland parade where, after an audition process, our dancers were chosen to lead. The dancers also participated in classes at The Edge Performing Arts in Los Angeles and were taught by some of Disney’s best choreographers and performers at Disney Performing Arts.
Outside of the dancing, everyone was kept busy with the many trips and tours included. They were lucky enough to have breakfast at ‘Goofy’s Kitchen’ and a farewell dinner at the ‘Rainforest Cafe’, tour through Universal Studios and Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, shop at Ontario Mills outlet mall, attend an Anaheim Angels Baseball Game, tour around Hollywood and Santa Monica Beach and going on the rides at Disneyland, California Adventure Park and Universal Studios. There were nightly fireworks and light shows which were absolutely breath taking.
This trip would not have been possible without the support of parents and we had many of them travelling with us. We had 42 family members there to support the dancers at every performance and cheer them along all the way through. We were so happy to be able to offer this amazing experience to our students and would like to take this opportunity to tell them how proud we are of all their hard work and effort over the last twelve months. We have been amazed by their dedication and commitment and they should be commended for this.
We would also like to make mention of our sponsors, without whom we would not have been able to put on the show we did. A huge thank you goes to the following companies Datalogic Automation, Kebles P/L, Ray White Dingley Village, Bendigo Bank Dingley Village, Bakers Delight Dingley Village and Allscreen Printing.
